How We Use ChatGPT to Write, Test, and Scale Winning Ads

AI isn’t coming for your workflow. It’s already in it.

The question is: are you using it well?

Here’s exactly how we use ChatGPT to move faster, test smarter, and scale winning ads without burning out the creative team.

1. Angle Ideation, Minus the Whiteboard

Before: blank docs and creative fatigue.

Now: drop this in ChatGPT—

“Give me 10 ad angles for a [product type] targeting [audience] who struggle with [pain point]. Make each one emotionally compelling with a clear promise.”

Two minutes later, you’ve got 10+ ideas to work from. Most are rough. A few are gold. But you’re not starting from zero anymore.

Pro tip: Tell ChatGPT what not to do. (“No fluff. Avoid generic phrases.”)

2. Hook First, Copy Second

If the hook doesn’t stop the scroll, the rest doesn’t matter. We test hooks with something like this:

“Give me 15 ad hooks for [product]. Focus on surprise, specificity, and emotional pain points.”

We’ll run 3–5 of them in short-form creatives, kill the losers, and double down on the ones that earn the click.

Also: we reuse top hooks in subject lines and landing page headlines. Don’t waste winners.

3. Draft in Multiple Styles (Fast)

We don’t just “write ads.” We build modular creative that can flex across formats:

UGC-style TikTok prompt:

“Write a 60-second UGC script for TikTok. First-person. Start with the problem, end with a CTA. Keep it casual and real.”

Founder-led long-form prompt:

“Write a Facebook ad from the founder’s POV. Tell a personal story, explain the product, and end with urgency.”

Ask for 3–4 tone/style variants per concept and you’ll never be stuck rewriting the same angle 12 ways.

Bonus move: Take a top-performing ad and say, “Rewrite this for a skeptical audience”—gold for retargeting.

4. Test Variants Without Burning Out

One winning ad concept = 10 quick variants.

We use ChatGPT to make quick edits for:

  • Different audience personas

  • Warm vs cold traffic

  • Seasonal spins (yes, people click more during holidays)

Example prompt:

“Rewrite this ad for a Gen Z audience. Use a casual tone, short sentences, and soft slang.”

Don’t overthink this. Use it. Test it. Move on.

5. Scale Wins Across the Funnel

Once we know what’s working, we repurpose it everywhere:

  • Landing pages

  • Retargeting ads

  • Email sequences

  • SMS

  • Organic content

Prompt we love:

“Turn this Facebook ad into a 5-part email sequence for cold leads. Each email builds trust and urgency.”

You’re not creating new ideas. You’re multiplying what already works.

So… Is AI Replacing Creatives?

No. It’s turning the best ones into the Flash.

It’s removing friction. Killing the blank page. And getting you to test-ready 10x faster.

If you know how to prompt it right, ChatGPT becomes a second brain for your ad team.

We’re not just talking theory here—we do this for clients every day.
