People Don’t Want Better. They Want Different.
Think about the last time you switched a product, platform, or service.
Was it because the new one was objectively better?
Or was it just... different enough to feel fresh?
Most ads sell "better."
“Better performance.”
“Better features.”
“Better pricing.”
But here’s the problem:
“Better” is invisible until after the purchase.
And by then, it’s too late.
The click already happened — or didn’t.
Different cuts through the scroll.
Different creates a feeling.
Different reframes the entire category.
Stop asking:
“How do we prove we’re better than Brand X?”
Start asking:
“What default belief are we challenging?”
“What sacred cow are we flipping?”
“How are we visually or emotionally zigging while they zag?”
Because buyers don’t benchmark.
They default — until something different jars them out of autopilot.
Want help finding your “different”?
